We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing/ Operations Manager . The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and generating new business via our e-commerce activities throughout UK and Europe as well as worldwide. Identifying new products and negotiating with suppliers to sell leisure / outdoor products directly via this new website.
The successful candidate's duties will include:
1. Reporting to the Managing Director.
2. Organising and maintaining our e-commerce activity, purchasing, stock control and product sourcing whilst working closely with the website development company during the design stages and on.
3. Developing business plans and business targets in new areas.
4. Implementing and upgrading financial control and credit systems to ensure secure and effective payment procedures.
5. Working closely with suppliers.
6. Planning effective marketing to promote the on-line profile of the business and to develop online trade.
7. Liaising and working with directors, to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the e-commerce system.
8. Researching and identifying issues regarding product availability on-line and maintaining an effective system to remedy this.
9. Price comparison and market research on products and trade.
10. Introducing and implementing new technology as required for the efficient operation of e-commerce business.
11. Training, supervising and managing a team to operate a successful e-commerce business.
The successful candidate must have a suitable background in e commerce and purchasing. You will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to maintain and grow relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers. Probably educated to degree level or equivalent. Business development in a retail environment is also required. Direct sales experience an advantage.
You must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to innovate and develop new solutions.
